Super Bowl XLVI Predictions

We are less than seventy-two hours before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLVI, in Indianapolis. In the weeks leading up to the big game, we’ve had plenty of headlines, from Gronk’s ankle to Peyton Manning and Jim Irsay’s war of words.

First, lets look at how the Giants and Patriots got to this point. The Patriots slaughtered the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, 45-10. The Broncos let Gronk get a free release off the line-of-scrimmage, leading to three Gronk spikes. The week before the Patriots beat up on the Broncos, the Giants walked past the less than threatening, Atlanta Falcons. The final score said it all, 24-2, Giants.

The Giants guaranteed a victory against the defending Super Bowl champs, Green Bay Packers. The Giants backed up those words in a 37-20 victory.

In the Championship Round, the Giants and Patriots were handed tickets to Indy. Billy Cundiff and Lee Evans choked away the Ravens’ chance at a Super Bowl trip, while Kyle Williams “dropped the ball” against the Giants.

Super Bowl XLVI shouldn’t be close, the Giants are clearly the better team. With Victor Cruz lined up for the Giants, look for the Patriots lack of defense to finally catch up with them. If the Patriots don’t rattle Eli, he will easily throw for 300+ yards.

The Patriots have yet to beat a quality team (they didn’t beat the Ravens, the Ravens beat the Ravens), and don’t look for them to start now. I can’t see Rob Gronkowski (Questionable) having a big game on his injured ankle. The Giants will prove to be too much for the Patriots, securing their second Superbowl win against the Pats. Giants 24 Patriots 14

Superbowl XLVI MVP:

Victor Cruz: 8 Rec. 198 Yards 2 Touchdowns
